Terms of Service

You must be at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to order. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping any account details secure.

Yako is a fresh, perishable food product. We've described and photographed it as accurately as we can, but the look and colour of the pickle vary naturally and may differ slightly from your screen. We may change or discontinue products, and limit quantities, at any time. Always check the pack for ingredients, allergens, storage and best-before details.

Yako contains sesame (gingelly oil) and mustard, and is prepared in a kitchen that handles spices and other ingredients. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please read the pack and contact us before ordering if you're unsure. Store and consume Yako as directed on the pack.

When you place an order, you're making an offer to buy. We may accept or decline any order at our discretion (for example, stock issues, pricing errors, delivery area, or suspected fraud). Your order is accepted only once we confirm it, and we take payment before acceptance. If we can't fulfil an order, we'll contact you using the details you provided.

Prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and may change without notice; the price you pay is the one shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude delivery, which is shown at checkout. You confirm you're authorised to use your chosen payment method.

Delivery times are estimates and aren't guaranteed (see our Shipping Policy), and we're not liable for delays outside our control. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Returns and refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.

The Yako name, the yaka mascot, our logos, text, images and design are owned by us or our licensors and protected by Sri Lankan and international law. You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial use only. Don't copy, reproduce, modify or reuse our content or brand without our written permission.

Use the site lawfully. Don't attempt to disrupt or misuse it, infringe anyone's rights, scrape or harvest data, introduce malicious code, or use it to break the law. We may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached.

Yako is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the store to you. Any sale you make is directly with Yako, not Shopify. You agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of the sale - including any injury, loss or damage arising from the products - and you release Shopify and its affiliates from any claims arising from your purchases and transactions with Yako.

To the extent allowed by law, the site and products are provided 'as is'. We don't guarantee the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the site or a product is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Sri Lankan consumer law that can't legally be excluded (including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

You agree to cover reasonable losses we incur arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. These Terms are the entire agreement between us. You can't transfer your rights under them without our consent; we may. We may update these Terms, and your continued use of the site means you accept the changes.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
